Introducing The Harvesters

In the summer of 2004, our music minister, Philip Hearn, came to me and encouraged me to start a Southern Gospel quartet. We talked about who might like to sing in a group, and after much prayer, The Harvesters became a reality.

My wife, Linda, and I had traveled for many years with The Rhythm Masters and were well aware of the commitment it takes to put together a singing group. We were determined to set not only our musical standards high, but more importantly our spiritual standards.

God has helped us assemble a group of young men who not only meet the necessary musical standards, but also the spiritual standards, to make a cohesive, talented gospel quartet that has a message to bring to a lost and dying world.

We are all active members of Florence Baptist Church and are grateful for the love and support shown to us by all the members.

The Rawlings Family

Carrol Rawlings, lead singer and manager of The Harvesters, along with his wife, Linda, pianist for the group, have been involved in gospel music for more than 30 years. Their commitment to excellence is evident in the quality groups they have managed in the past.

Carrol is the third son of Dr. John Rawlings of The Landmark Baptist Temple and traveled with The Landmark Quartet before joining The Rhythm Masters.

Linda became the church pianist at her home church at nine years of age and joined Carrol and The Rhythm Masters shortly after she and Carrol married. Linda is considered by many to be one of the finest gospel pianists around.

They are joined by their daughter, Lindsay, bass guitarist for The Harvesters. Lindsay is a second-year nursing student at Thomas More College.

Serving the Lord through gospel music has been our passion, and we consider it a true honor to be a part of this exciting Gospel group.

The Crase Family

When Greg first heard Carrol was forming a quartet, he had hoped to be chosen to sing bass but would have been happy being a roadie. When it didn't happen, Greg decided if he couldn't sing with The Harvesters that he would support them in whatever way he could.

Of course, Greg was ecstatic when Carrol and Linda told him in the spring of 2005 that they needed a bass singer and would like him to consider joining The Harvesters.

Greg has been singing in choirs and small groups for over 25 years, but he has enjoyed nothing more than singing with such a great group of men.

Greg and Donna met in college, have been married 16 years, and have three children. Greg works at the University of Cincinnati.

The Sandlin Family

David's love for music has been evident throughout his life. Growing up, he was a fan of Elvis Presley (he still is a fan). At First Baptist Church of Alexandria, he sang in a quartet. His love of Southern Gospel music grew.

After becoming a member of Florence Baptist Church, he joined the choir. He was eager to sing Southern Gospel in an all-male quartet. Needless to say, he was thrilled when The Harvesters was formed.

David counts it a joy and privilege to use his talent to tell others of Jesus. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and watching sports. He teaches in the business department at Walton Verona High School.

David has been married to Tonya for 13 years, and they have two children. David enjoys spending time with his family and special dates with his wife.

The Wright Family

Randy moved to Kentucky in 2002 from Florida with his wife, Beth, and their two children. Randy has always enjoyed singing, and he performed with a gospel quartet in Florida.

He is currently a captain for Comair Airlines and enjoys fishing and hunting in his spare time.
